In regards to your story, this is a perfect example of IGNORANT a** parents. My wife and I have a gun right next to the bed (Glock 9mm) but I can tell you with the utmost certainty that the minute we're no longer alone and have kids it will be locked and unreachable for the kids. The parents are obviously to blame here. If I was the parents of the baby sitter I'd unleash legal hell.

Regarding the 4 year old, what's so sad is two things: the youngster knew exactly where to go to get the gun and the youngster is obviously headed into a life of anger and violence for him to become this upset over getting his toe stepped on! What in the world I ask are the parents teaching him? How is he seeing people interact in front of him? Lastly, why on earth was the gun within the reach of a 4 year old?
When I first heard about this story I was told that the parents are being charged with aggravated assault (I think that is the charge). This is probably a question for a whole other post but here is my question, at what age is the child responsible for his or hers action? I guess at 4 years old the parents have to stand accountable, but this four year old, apparently old beyond his years should get the beating of his life (oh settle down all those of you against spankings, he shot somebody!!!), time out for about six months, no play dates until the third grade, and definitely no cowboys and Indians movies!!
I think he needs to be triple teamed: Supernanny for his bad behavior, Dr. Phil for the obvious psychological issues, and TD Jakes to pray him through. I’d love to see where this child ends up in 14 years! I have made a few jokes here, but it is really sad. I’ve never heard of anything like it!
